Description
This fan coil thermostat is built for FCU systems rather than adapted from a domestic room stat. It drives three fan speeds and a motorised valve independently, on a 7-terminal layout that maps directly onto standard fan coil wiring.
What it controls
Fan coil units need two things controlled at once: air movement and water flow. This unit handles both, switching high, medium and low fan speeds and opening or closing the valve, with independent operation of each. That is what separates a proper fan coil thermostat from a room thermostat wired into an FCU, where you end up with a fan running at one speed and a valve that never modulates. It suits 2-pipe and 4-pipe systems and motorised water valve installations. Controls of this class fall under IEC 60730-2-9.

Will it control a radiator?
Only in one specific case, and it is worth being precise because this is where returns come from. It works if the radiator is controlled by a 220V AC motorised valve needing simple open and close control, with a total load under 200W. It does not work with a manual valve, a low-voltage 24V or battery valve, a thermostatic radiator valve, or anything needing proportional or modulating control. If you are not sure which you have, photograph the valve head and send it to us before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Is the app available on iOS?
TELEHEMS is Android. If iOS control is essential, tell us before ordering and we will confirm the current options.
Can one unit run several fan coils?
It controls one FCU. Multiple units need one thermostat each, which is the normal arrangement in hotels and offices.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, the wall unit controls the FCU directly. Wi-Fi adds app control only.
Two-pipe and four-pipe systems
A two-pipe fan coil carries either hot or chilled water depending on the season, so a fan coil thermostat controls one valve and the changeover happens centrally. A four-pipe system carries both at once and can heat and cool independently. Know which you have before ordering, because the valve wiring differs and a unit configured for the wrong system will appear to work and then behave strangely at the change of season.
Hotel and multi-room installations
In a hotel or serviced apartment each room needs its own fan coil thermostat, and the practical questions become consistency and guest usability rather than specification. A guest who cannot work out the controls calls reception, so a clear touch panel with an obvious fan speed and setpoint is worth more than an extra feature. Ordering the whole floor at once also matters: mixing batches leaves you with rooms whose panels look and behave slightly differently. We hold stock and can supply a full floor to one specification.
